Blue Lake Free Press Turns One!

31 Jul

Today, Blue Lake Free Press is one year old! Our first post “Into the Blue” premiered on Thursday, July 31st, 2008 and was a simple photo post:

It was very temperate day. My, how things have changed.

In other party news:

A big “ja hey” to the folks who attended yesterday’s inaugural Meet The Blue Lake Free Press event. Although the meet & greet was a hastily thrown together affair, ominous skies favored anonymity over publicity, and the venue had to be changed from lakeside to indoors, the attending guests exhibited true Blue Lake spirit and whooped it up fireside over savory antipasti, baked goods from Schroeders of Woodruff, and cocktails flavored with wild lakeshore mint. Party-goers represented a comprehensive Blue Lake contingent, including Blue Lake Island, and hailed from all around the United States. Conversation included writing, airplanes, fireworks, military operations, phosphorous and wildlife. A guy-trio wrapped up the event with a dual-spud firing from a ‘tater gun.
