Wildly Delicious Apples

Wild Apples Ripening near Blue Lake

As this cool August rolls into a warm September, juicy apples hang from trees in an impressive array of deliciousness, thriving on the branch of an otherwise bizarre, no-summer, season.  A consistent aridity baked the life out of many apple-loving insects early in the growing time, allowing an abundance of fruit the opportunity to mature.  Plenty of brisk apple-happy days followed, swelling a respectable crop into a superabundant harvest.

The apples shown in the photograph on the left are ripening on a tree in the Blue Lake Metropolitan Area.  Apple treats to follow, if the bear doesn’t get to them first.
