Preparing for the Cold…

Wood Pile on Blue Lake

September is once again living up to its reputation as “the best kept secret of the Northwoods” by delivering consistently superb weather with warm, quiet days and crisp, clear nights.  True Minoccupants take advantage of these fair skies by chopping into their pre-winter chores… such as restocking empty woodsheds totally depleted by city-slicking visitors.  Indeed, turn an ear to the wind for a chorus of chainsaws and premature leaf blowers.

The woodshed on the left, once fully stocked with five rows of hardwood and one row of softwood can accommodate one fireplace running for six hours per day for approximately five months.
