Blue Lake’s Early Melt

18 Mar

A massive heat wave dug out the flip-flops, slathered on the sunscreen, and unfolded its beach umbrella over Minocqua this month, with temperatures steadily rising since March 1st. This past Monday saw the mercury boiling over 60 degrees, where it remained throughout the week.  According to a BLMA year-rounder, snow is eerily absent from the area.

Blue Lake, accordingly, is well underway to its inaugural major meltdown.  Ice has separated from the shoreline and surely a symphony of bellows, creeks, groans and booms is currently serenading Blue Lake residents.

What part of the lake was the shoreline picture taken of? I can’t seem to place the little shed.

Hi! I believe it is a little bit to the east of Camp Agawak.
