Dazzlingly Warm Autumn Week on Blue Lake

7 Oct

Pier on Blue Lake

Near 80-degree days and mild nights graced the Blue Lake Metro area this past week as residents enjoyed long walks under beautiful fall canopies, calm boat-perfect waters and bike rides in t-shirts.  Wild turkeys are pretty much everywhere, as is evidence of bear activity, and a creature spotted only by its sturdy and fury hind legs presumed to be either a black coyote-wolf-bear cub-deer.

A comfortable southern breeze picked up on Thursday and blanketed the forests, roads, driveways, yards and lake with colorful leaf drifts.  An attempted wetsuit-less swim took place on Wednesday with participants only delving chest-deep and equating Blue Lake’s icy waters with being shocked with a defibrillator.
