BLPA Meeting – Wing Fest – Ides of March

Are you ready for the mega-day filled with 3 super Blue Lake events to test the social graces and party endurance of all who attempt the challenge?  Mark your calendar for August 4th because that’s when it’s going down:

  • 9:00 am – Blue Lake Preservation Association Annual Meeting
  • Evening – Wing Fest @ Blue Lake Pines
  • Evening – Ides of March @ Pig in the Pines Rib Fest

Ides of March to Once Again Rock Rib Fest

Rockers The Ides of March, featuring Blue Lake’s own Bob Bergland, and Jim Peterik (Survivor), who tore it up in 1970 with the hit single “Vehicle” are back to fire up St. Germain’s Pig in the Pines Rib Fest on Saturday, August 4th.  Bergland extends a personal invitation to all Blue Lakers:

ROCK ‘N’ RIBS

St. Germain hosts an annual rib fest over the first weekend in August and many Blue Lake residents have attended this fun family event: “Pig in the Pines”.  I would like to extend everyone a personal invitation to attend the evening of Saturday, August 4 – not only for some great food, but also for the entertainment, my band, The Ides of March.  We are excited to be back at the fest, and honored that we have been invited to play 3 of the last 4 years.

For those of you who don’t know, The Ides formed as a four piece band in 1964 (yeah, we saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan) and had some hit records along the way, most importantly, “Vehicle” which is now a rock classic. Naturally, we play our hits, plus the enormous hits written by our lead guitarist/vocalist Jim Peterik for bands such as Survivor, 38 Special, Sammy Hagar, and the current Beach Boys single.  All of our arrangements feature our killer brass section.

Now that we have played this fest twice, all the guys are looking forward to visiting the Northwoods again and hanging out, Blue Lake style.  And of course, breakfast at Paul Bunyan’s before the trip home.

Hope you can make it.  The Association Annual Meeting is that morning, so plan business in the morning and party in the evening.  Guaranteed good fun!  And please stop by and say hi to us kids from Chicago!

EDITOR’S NOTE:

I’ve seen the show and it ROCKS!
